Jupiter Enters Aquarius : Dec. 20, 2009

Cosmic Benevolence for 2010 - Based on Moon Sign.

There are two planets (Jupiter & Saturn) and two nodes (Rahu & Ketu) the transit of which lasts for one year or more, affecting human life greatly. Human affairs are influenced by the planets at two levels; firstly at the natal chart level (dasa and bhukti periods) and secondly the transit level, the latter operating under the ambit of the natal chart. Vedic astrology revolves around the moon from the point of predictions, and hence, the transit is judged from the natal moon position.

            Most importantly, the judgement of the natal horoscope is firstly made as the correct synthesis can be arrived at if the nature of dasha and bhukti results are assessed and transit planets results are transposed.  Beneficence and malfeasance are increased or decreased accordingly in the final analysis and to arrive at the right moment of event occurrence.

            Presently under discussion is the effect of the transit of Jupiter as it enters Aquarius on 20th December, 2009, and stays in the sign upto 5th May, 2010. Being in fast movement it will further move to Pisces to remain their from May 5 to July 24, 2010. It comes back to Aquarius on Nov.2 and again moves on to Pisces on December 6, 2010. It is effectively transiting Aquarius only for 5 months as compared usual 11 to 12 months.

This unusual flip-flop movement of Jupiter in less than one year within two signs Aquarius and Pisces, makes the results also uncertain such that the positive or negative implication of this transit will be short lived.  So, it will be best to “Make Hay While the Sun Shines” for positive results and to have patience for the negative results pass off, without damaging much.

There are two planets (Saturn & Jupiter) and nodes (Rahu & Ketu) the transit of which lasts for one year or more, affecting human life greatly. Rahu, the dragon head, the most treacherous of these enters Sagittarius on 3^rd Nvember 2009 until 3^rd May 2011, bringing about the change in fortunes of one and all.

Human affairs are influenced by the planets at two levels; firstly at the natal chart level (dasa and bhukti periods) and secondly the transit level, the latter operating under the ambit of the natal chart. Vaastu & Tulsi Plant

Indian basil or the holy Tulsi plant is an important symbol in the Indian tradition. It has great relevance in Vaastu remedial application. It is a venerated plant and the name itself means "the incomparable one. Though Tulsi grows wild in the tropics and warm regions, it is a delicate plant if not well attended and watered daily in accordance with the season. If it is grown or maintained in a pot, it should be watered morning and evening in summer. In winter it needs water in the morning only. Dark or Shyama tulsi and light or Rama tulsi are the two main varieties of basil, the former possessing greater medicinal value. Of the many varieties, the Krishna or Shyama tulsi is commonly used for worship. Karpoora tulsi gives us essential oil used for medicinal purposes, and is used in herbal soaps, also these days.

The presence of tulsi plant symbolizes the purity of thought, karma and body to the family members. Even without a vaastu dosa its presence itself is powerful enough to give good health to the mind, body and soul. It can be nurtured religiously either in the courtyard of the abode or in the northeast sector balcony or opening. One can have the tulsi planted in a specially built structure with images of deities on all four sides, and an alcove for a small earthen oil lamp to be lighted morning and evening. One can safely have up to a dozen tulsi plants on the verandah or in the garden or on either side of the pathway forming a "tulsi-vrindavan".

Tulsi is a prime herb in Ayurvedic treatment. It is considered the elixir of life as it promotes longevity. The extract of tulsi plant is used to prevent and cure many illnesses including malaria. It can be used to treat common ailments. These days many household drink tulsi tea also to promote health. The tulsi plant is even known to purify. It is used as a repellent to mosquitoes and other harmful insects.

In Hindu mythology, tulsi is very dear to Lord Vishnu. Tulsi is ceremonially married to Lord Vishnu annually on the 11th bright day of the month of Karttika of the lunar calendar (which will fall on October this year). This festival continues for five days and concludes on the full moon day, which falls in mid October. This ritual, called the 'Tulsi Vivaha' inaugurates the annual marriage season in India.

Varanasi boasts of Tulsi Manas Mandir where tulsi is overgrown and worshipped along with other gods and goddesses. According to one belief Lord Vishnu is pleased when tulsi is worshipped. Some wear beaded necklaces made of tulsi stems.

Tulsi as Medicine

           

Tulsi or basil is a herbal remedy for a lot of common ailments. Here's a list of some medicinal uses of tulsi, from Health library:

1. The juice of tulsi leaves can be used to bring down fever. Extract of tulsi leaves in fresh water should be given every 2 to 3 hours. In between one can keep giving sips of cold water. In children, it is every effective in bringing down the temperature.


2. Tulsi is an important constituent of many Ayurvedic cough syrups and expectorants. It helps to mobilise mucus in bronchitis and asthma. Chewing tulsi leaves relieves cold and flu.


3. For earache a few drops of tulsi extract, if instilled, relieves the symptoms promptly.


4. The juice of fresh leaves, flower tops and slender roots is a very god antidote for snake and scorpion bite.


5. Its oil is rich in vitamin C, carotene, calcium and phosphorus. Besides, it has antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral properties.

6. Ayurvedic tulsi preparations have significantly reduced the symptoms of viral hepatitis.


7. In diabetics it helps in lowering the blood sugar level.


8. Its anti-spasmodic property can be utilised to relieve abdominal colics. The extracts are also helpful in digestive disorders.


9. Tulsi leaves have properties similar to the currently available anti-TB drugs like Streptomycin and Isoniazide.


10. Oil of tulsi has been used as a potent anti-malarial drug. It also has mosquito repellent properties.


11. It raises the human body immunity by increasing the antibody production.


12. Experimental studies on animals have shown anti-stress activity with tulsi extract.


13. Tulsi has anti-fertility effect by reducing the estrogen hormone levels in females and decreasing the sperm count in men.


14. It is also used to treat ringworm of the skin.

Marriage Or Remarriage

The question of remarriage arises under the most serious malady caused either by the death of life partner or due to separation resulting in divorce under the influence of various and different planetary afflictions. The first is thrust upon the person under the malefic influence of Mars of the native.

Most serious broken marriages are the result of either spouse indulging in extra marital union – either openly or secretly.  Generally, when luminaries (Sun and Moon) are in good aspect from the planets Venus, Mars and Saturn or Uranus, the marital relations are harmonious and legal.  Added to this, the strength of Jupiter plays an important role in determining the legality of cohabitation.  Affliction to Jupiter and or ninth house also can be a cause of unwanted union.  It thus means that illegal relations are caused by severe angular afflictions (dosha) from Mars, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune to Sun or Moon.  Even a badly placed or afflicted Venus may also adversely affect the marriage. In practical sense, divorces occur due to lack of mutual respect, understanding or adjustment.

If looked into seriously, there are signs of remarriage in such cases, most important of them being association or aspect between the 11th or the 12 on the one hand and the 7th or 2nd house lord on the other.  Lords of 6th, 8th and 12 also play an important role.  Experience has indicated that the remarriage can be expected in the periods or sub-periods mainly of Rahu.  Jupiter is the causative factor of marriage in the case of women and the venus for a man.  These planets being placed happily in the nativity can process remarriage and promise a happy married life.  If these are in powerful transit, it can be an added advantage.

If the divorce has not yet been formalised and you want to ward off such an eventuality, the following can be chanted for seven days.

It will always be better if these are started under the guidance of a guru or a vedic pandit versed in the subject.

Vaastuwise, it will be an added advantage if it is ensured that the north-east to southwest axis is without any affliction caused by a column.  The bedroom or sitting areas should be without a beam.  Make sure that you live in a house which do not have a kitchen or a toilet in northeast sector.

Additionally, Rahu can be propitiated sitting in the southwest part of the house or your bedroom.   Steps should also be taken to do shanti in case of affliction caused by Mars.  You may take the help of favourable gems for desired results.  Practising hast-mudras like Surabhi, Yoni and Linga is highly beneficial.

Remember, love begets love, hate for man or women in general is not a healthy attitude to lead a happy and contended married life.

Astro-study : Mangal Dosha Or Yoga

Mangal Dosha:

Delayed marriage, problem marriage, marital discords or any problem relating to marital life promotion and subsequent happiness depends on many astrological combinations, prime among them being Mars, Venus and Jupiter. If Venus and or Jupiter are under adverse planetary effects, the marriage will happen at a late stage in life.  A comprehensive assessment should be made to pinpoint the dosha and its remedy for alleviation of the problem.

When Mars is located in any of the houses 12, Lagna, 4th, 7th & 8th, in the horoscope, it is termed as "Mangal Dosh" or “Kuja Dosh”.  It is considered as a drawback during marriage, which needs reassessing in the light of modern times and late marriages.  Mars affects the 4th, 7th & 8th house from the house in which it is placed.  This is called "Mangal Drushti" or Mars aspect.

Utmost caution is needed to handle this dosha as it affects not only the life of two persons, but of two families and most importantly, the children of the couple after marriage.  It is always advisable to match the horoscopes of such natives without reservation, especially so, if Mars Mahadasha is yet to operate that too in near future.

Mars is a planet representing, fire, violence, electricity, chemicals, weapons, aggression, war, high energy, blood, fight, accident etc. Followings are the adverse effects of placement of Mars (including aspect-drishti from Mars) in different houses. 1) Short tempered, 2) Wealth depletion, family discord or even death of spouse, 3) Failures, family disharmony, 4) Property problems, accidents including fires, 6) Enemies, litigation, diseases and thefts, 7) Disturbance in marital life and with business-partners, 8) Death or fatal accidents, sudden monetary gains and legacy, 9) Excellent family ties, 10) Disturbance in career and sleep, differences with father, 11) Losses, accidents and thefts, and 12) Over-expenditures or wasteful expenses.  

These are broad guidelines.  Many factors need be analysed like the overall strength of the horoscope, power of the planets, aspects of the planets etc. Briefly, when Mars is placed in 1st house it will affect 4th, 7th & 8th house in addition to 1st. When placed in the 4th house,  it will affect 7th, 10th & 11th house in addition to 4th house. When placed in 7th house, it will affect 10th, 1st & 2nd house in addition to 7th. Mars in 8th House, affects 11th, 2nd & 3rd house. Similarly when Mars is placed in 12th house, it affects 3rd, 6th & 7th houses also.

To ward off mangal dosha, one may perform mangal pooja, and offer in donation red flowers, red coral, red sandal wood, tandoori sweet roti, revari, batashe, dal masoor, red things, sonph to a brahmachari or a kshatriya youth in noon time of Tuesday.

Mars (Mangal) affects these house, by placement or aspect, those areas of life will be adversely affected. However, Mars (Mangal) losses its adversity when:

1.         It is placed in Cancer (neecha), Gemini or Virgo (enemy). 

2.         It also losses its adversity when posited too close to Sun.

3.         When 1st house happens to be Aries, or 4th house Scorpio, or 7th house Capricorn or 8th house Leo or 12 house Sagittarius.

If Mars (Mangal) dosha becomes mild when it receive drushti from any "Shubh" benefic planet i.e. Jupiter, Venus, Moon & Mercury. What situations in the horoscope of the spouse is treated as matching with the horoscope having "Mangal Dosh"? If the horoscope of the spouse has any of the following star positions, it is complementary to the person having "Mangal Dosh" and hence the two can be considered to match for each other.

1. If Saturn is in 1st, 4th, 7th, 8th or 12th house.


2. If Saturn is affecting 7th house with " 3rd or 10th Drushti" i.e. if Saturn is in 5th or 10th house.


3. If Powerful Jupiter (In Cancer, Sagittarius, Pisces) and when it is vargottama or uchcha in lagna or navamsa kundli.


4. If Powerful Venus (in Pisces, Taurus or Libra) and when it is vargottama or uchcha in lagna or navamsa kundli.


5. When Jupiter or Venus are posited in lagna or navamsa lagna.


6. If 7th house is affected by Jupiter's 5th or 9th drushti i.e. Jupiter is placed in 3rd or 11th house.

Bhuvaneshwari Vivaah Prayog : For early marriage

Bhuvaneshwari Devi is the mother goddess, one of the ten Mahavidyas, who can grant married life and make it happy, prosperous and comfortable. This Sadhana can be tried by a girl or a boy or one can assign a knowledgeable priest brahmin in this sadhna. 

Start the sadhna from any Friday and should be continued uninterrupted daily till the desired result is obtained, chant the mantra in a prescribed manner. 

1.      Early in the morning have a bath and wear fresh clothes.

2.      Cover a wooden seat with yellow cloth and make a mound of rice grains in the centre to then place a Bhuvaneshwari Yantra.

3.      Light a ghee lamp and praying to your family deity offer vermilion on the yantra and red flowers.

4.      Chant one round of the following Mantra with a quartz crystal (sphatic) rosary. 

"Om Kaamdevaay Vidmahe Pushpbaannaay

Dheemahi Tanno-anang Prachodayaat"

Done in total faith for 15 days continuously, one is sure to get a right match. 

Next chant the following Mantra with Vishvaasu Manni rosary.

"Om Kleem Vishvaasu Naam Gandharvah Kanyaah Naamaadhipatih Labhaami Dev-dattaam Kanyaam Suroopaam Salaankaaraam Tasmei Vishvaav-sarva Namah"

Each day chant the Mantra with the same rosary. The number of chantings must be calculated according to the number of days from Monday to the full moon day.

In the night of full moon chant five extra rounds and tie the amulet around your waist. Place the Siddhi Chakra at home in the place of worship.
